Disclaimer

Last updated: May 2026

The Easy Homestead operates as both a content site and a local homesteading directory. This disclaimer covers how we handle affiliate relationships, directory listing accuracy, user reviews, and advertising. Plain language — no hiding anything.

01

Affiliate links

Some links on The Easy Homestead — particularly in blog posts and the Resources section — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Affiliate income helps fund the directory infrastructure, content production, and listing verification. It does not influence which businesses we list, how we rank them, or what our reviews say. Those are completely separate.

Simple rule: If a link could earn us money, we'll tell you. If we recommend something in the directory, it's because homesteaders told us it's good — not because someone paid us to say so.
02

Directory listings

The Easy Homestead directory contains two types of listings:

● Claimed & Verified

The business owner has confirmed ownership, reviewed their details, and verified their phone number. These are as accurate as we can make them.

⊙ Unclaimed

Seeded from public records (state licensing databases, county agricultural registries). Contact information may be outdated. Always confirm before committing to a booking.

We do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing, including claimed listings. Businesses move, retire, change phone numbers, and stop taking new clients. We recommend calling before you drive.

We do not endorse or vouch for the quality of work any listed business performs. Verified status means we confirmed identity — it is not a quality guarantee. That's what reviews are for.

03

User reviews

Reviews on The Easy Homestead are written by real homesteaders and require verified contact with the business to post. We do not allow anonymous reviews, and businesses can respond to them.

That said: reviews represent the opinions of individual users. We do not independently verify every claim made in a review. We moderate for spam and obvious bad faith, but we don't edit or suppress honest negative reviews.

If you believe a review about your business is false or defamatory, contact us. We take these reports seriously and will investigate.

04

Content accuracy

Blog content on The Easy Homestead covers natural remedies, foraging, livestock care, and homesteading practices. This content is based on personal experience and research — it is not a substitute for professional veterinary, medical, or agricultural advice.

We try to keep content accurate and up to date, but homesteading practices vary by region, climate, and individual circumstance. What works on a farm in Tennessee may not be right for one in Montana. Use your judgment and consult local experts when it matters.

05

Advertising

We run display advertising through Mediavine on blog content pages. Mediavine may use cookies and similar technologies to show you interest-based advertising. See our privacy policy and Mediavine's privacy notice for full details.

Directory listing pages do not serve display ads. Enhanced and Featured listing placements are paid directly by the business — they are labeled accordingly in search results.
